My explorer is Francisco Vasquez De Coronado. He is an explorer from Spain but, He came to the americas to find gold.
Francisco Vasquez De Coronado came to the Americas to find gold. He also came to the Americas to seek glory, wealth and power for Spain.
We need gold for a powerful country.
Francisco Vasquez De Coronado lead an expedition from Mexico to present day New Mexico in 1540. The seven cities there were said to have as much gold as the Aztec Empire.
Okay let's try.
I have heard stories about going to Kansas for gold.
Coronado was conquistador from Spain . He explored Cibola, Grand Canyon, and Rio Grande. All these places are from present day New Mexico he also marched across the plains to Kansas and these places were the places he tried to find gold at but, he could not find any gold.
Coronado explored to help Spain get more land and gold. Land and Gold would make a country more powerful.
Coronado traveled to all these places based on stories he had heard about gold being there. He then returned to Spain with disgrace.
