A ratio is a way of comparing two or more quantities such as the amount of boys to girls in a classroom, such as the ratio of 12 boys to 6 girls is 12:6.Then you simplify it. So, the answer is 2:1.Now a rate is the ratio between two different units of measure, while a unit rate is the ratio of two different units of measure for a single thing. Like 20 miles per hour is: miles per hour. To find the unit rate, you divide the first quantity from the second quantity. For example, if someone reads 20 pages in 5 hours, then the unit rate is 5 pages per hour.
That is so cool Jimmy!

Proportions are all about comparing ratios. If you have two ratios, say, 𝑎 𝑏 and 𝑐 𝑑 , and you set them equal to each other, you've got a proportion: 𝑎 𝑏 = 𝑐d. To solve a proportion, first cross multiply, then solve for the unknown. For example, to solve the equation 2/3=x/6, you first cross multiply which will give you 3x=12, then divide, which will give you the answer of 4.
Thanks for explaining all that math to me Jimmy!
