- Good day everyone! Welcome to the BYTES, our science club that assist student like us who’s having difficulty in understanding science concept.
- Today, were going to discuss “how water behaves in its different states within the water cycle,” but before that let’s freshen our mind about matter.

- Solid – particles are tightly packed, closely to each other
- Liquid – particles are closer together
- Matter is anything that has weight and takes up space and is made of particles that determine the states of matter.

- Gas – particles are well separated
- Liquid is matter that can change into different states such as liquid, solid and gas. When water liquid changes state in the water cycle, the total number of water particles remains the same. The changes of changes state in the water cycle forms an endless loop, but the whole process start at the ocean where 96% of total water on Earth exists.
- WATER CYCLE
- At the altitudes the water vapors changes into very tiny particles of ice/water droplets because of the low temperature or absence of he at energy then condensation occurs.
- The water cycle begins with evaporation. Water absorbs heat energy from the sun and turns into vapors. Water moves from hydrosphere(bodies of water) to atmosphere. As water evaporates it reduces the temperature of the bodies.
- Sublimation is a process where ice directly converts into water vapors, it also contributes to water vapors in the air. This accelerates when the particles of a solid iced block changes to gas.
- The particles of solid absorb enough energy to completely overcome the force ofattraction between them.
- When the air cannot hold any more water than precipitation occurs known as rain because at high altitudes the temperature is low therefore the droplets lose their heat energy.
- But if the temperature is very low (below o degrees) then the water droplets would fall as snow, drizzle, sleet and hail.
