- Eddie nodded. “Maybe it doesn’t have a home. Let’s take it with us. We can feed it and keep it safe.”
- Oh no,” said Danny softly. “This poor puppy looks lost.”
- It was a bright and quiet afternoon when two brothers, Danny and Eddie, were walking home from school. As they passed by the roadside, they heard a soft whimpering sound. Curious, they looked around and saw a small brown puppy hiding under a bush. The puppy looked thin and scared, with its tail tucked between its legs.

- I'm tired of dogs. They're noisy , please put it out in the street.
- Look,Father we have a new puppy.
- We saw it on the road. Maybe, it got lost. Isn't he nice?
- So, the brothers gently picked up the little dog and carried it home. When they arrived, they ran to their father, but Father didn’t look pleased. He sighed and shook his head.

- “Please, Father,” Eddie begged, “can we at least keep him tonight? Just for one night?”
- “All right,” he said at last, “but only for tonight.”
- Danny and Eddie looked at each other sadly. They didn’t want to abandon the poor little puppy.Father thought for a moment. He could see the pleading eyes of his two sons and the shivering puppy in Eddie’s arms.

- The boys jumped with joy. They gave the puppy some leftover food and a bowl of water. The puppy wagged its tail happily and followed them around the house. When nighttime came, everyone went to sleep.

- “That puppy is noisy!” he shouted. “Put that puppy out right now!”“I smell smoke,” he said.
- “Aw! Aw! Aw!” it cried.
- But just as the house grew quiet, the puppy began to bark loudly.Father woke up, angry and tired, But the puppy barked again, even louder — “Aw! Aw! Aw!”Father sat up in bed, about to get up and scold the dog, when suddenly he sniffed the air.

- He rushed to the kitchen, and to his horror, he saw that the kitchen curtains were on fire! Quickly, Father grabbed a bucket of water and poured it over the flames. The fire hissed and went out, filling the room with steam and smoke. Soon, everything was safe again. father took a deep breath and looked at the puppy, who was still barking near the doorway.

- “Poor puppy,” he said. “You must be very tired. You barked loud and long to wake us up. You saved our house.”
- Father knelt down beside it. The next morning, Danny and Eddie woke up and found their father feeding the puppy.

- “Father! We thought you wanted to send him away,” Danny said in surprise.
- Father smiled gently. “Not anymore,” he replied. “This brave little dog saved our family and our home. He belongs with us now.”
- From that day on, the puppy had a new name — Lucky — because everyone agreed that he truly was. Lucky grew up to be a strong and loyal dog, and every night, he slept happily beside the family, knowing he had finally found a home filled with love.
