Page 71. The kata-kata broke into the bonobo sanctuary and are killing bonobos to eat and also have pretty much taken over. They killed Patrice which was one of the Bonobos caretakers.

Page 80. Sophie stayed back in congo with the bonobos and have to survive with what she had such as fruit, roots, and leaves. She is learning the ways of the Bonobos and adapting to their living situations with them.

Page 136. Sophie spots a house with the label A-I-D-S. This is a well-known group that terrorizes the people in Congo. Sophie finds out that this is just staged to keep people away while in the war. She ends up getting the needed water and food to keep living. She uses the bike to go to find other mateirals.

Pages 149 and 150. On these pages, Sophie sees a helicopter in which she believes that it can get her to safety especially because she is an American Citizen. But they force her to leave the premises and she is now stuck with little food and water.
