- You probably did. If you know 10 people, you probably know one with a rare disease. Isolated they seem rare, but combined they affect 10 % population.
- Wow! How serious are they?
- Really serious! 50 % of affected population are children and they might not live to see their 5th Birthday.
- Wow! What is the cause? Is there a cure?
- 80 % of them are genetic. There is treatment for only 5 % of these diseases.
- Wow! Only 5 %? What is necessary to develop more treatments?
- Bring awareness! Every life matters! It is necessary to engage scientists, companies, government and community tofight together these horrible diseases! Clock is ticking, we need everyone help. Let’s talk about rare diseases!
