- Ignatius was born in Azapeitzia Spain. He came from a wealthy family. He was vain and self-centered. His dream was to become a soldier and marry a wealthy women.

- He was a soldier at the Battle of Pamplona where he was serioulsy injured.
- During his convalescence he was confused and was trying to figure out what to do with his life.
- He would imagine himself as a great saint and all the things that he could possibly do.

- He decided that he wanted to walk in Jesus's steps. Iggy had a desire to do more, magis.
