- "And I will tell you, start to finish now, the story of our death" (24.133-34). This is said by the ghost of one of the suitors to Agamemnon, who is explaining the story of how they died.
- We died at dinner like you!
- "He poured it over his grizzled head, sobbing, in spasms" (24.356). This is what Odysseus' father does after hearing Odysseus' fake story. Odysseus later calms his father down and brings him joy by telling him that he's back
