- The Persian wars were a series of wars fought between the Persian and the Greeks
- The Persians were an empire that was the largest and the most powerful one in the world.
- 480 BC King Xerxes decided to get revenge on the Greeks
- The large Persian fleet attacked the Athenian ships but the Athenian managed to dodge them and sunk the Persians ships and took back Persia.
- After the invasion, the Athenians built a fleet of ships, they called it triremes.
- The Persian Empire would eventually be taken over by the Greeks under the leadership of Alexander the Great.
