Storyboard Text

  • It is a shame! However, we must follow the stupid Proclamation of 1763.
  • To avoid future wars with Native Americans, England forbid the colonists from moving into the land past the Appalachian mountains. This law, called the Proclamation of 1763, angered the colonists because the weren't allowed to move into they wanted to.
  • Think of the fruitful life we could have if we were allowed over the Appalachian mountains.
  • In the effort to pay off their debt, the British Parliament passed the Stamp act. This law entailed that colonists must buy one stamp for each paper product they bought. This included newspaper, playing cards, wills, licenses, and a plethora more.
  • That will be two stamps along with the rest of the cost.
  • If you buy paperDon't forget your stamp
  • Ugh! Must I!!
  • If you buy paperDon't forget your stamp
  • In order to pay for British solders to be in the colonies, Britain fabricated the quartering act. This act stated that the colonists were required to provide housing, food, and water for British soldiers. This order infuriated colonists who already had mouths to feed.
  • Let us into your house at once!
  • I hate this quartering act!
