- Astrid says she will lie in court so her mother will get out if Ingrid tells her the truth about her father and who "Annie" is.

- Ingrid decides to let her daughter go, and doesn't call for her to testify for her in court.
- Creating the Suitcases
- Astrid leaves the care of Rena Grushenka and lives with Paul Trout in New York.
- Living in New York with Paul Trout
- Paul and Astrid go to Denmark for Astrid to find and meet her father, Klaus Anders.
- To cope with her past, Astrid creates a suitcase in memory of each of her foster homes and her mother.
- Astrid happily lives with Paul Trout in New York, leaving the past six years of her life behind.
