- Not quite, cats are from the family Felidae, dogs are Canidae

- Scientists study DNA to see how closely species are related.
- So DNA is an instruction for every living thing?
- YES! Even if two animals look similar, their DNA can tell us if they are really related

- Classification helps scientists study diseases, protect endangered animals and even develop medicines.
