  • Nutrient Cycle
  • A system where energy and matter are transferred between living organisms and non-living parts of the environment.
  • Nutrient cycle or Ecological recycling is the movement and exchange of inorganic and organic matter back into the production of matter.
  • Thats right. Nutrient cycles allows the storage of elements, which is important because certain organisms only require a small quantity of a particular nutrient to sustain life.
  • The recycling of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen occurs in water, air and soil, whereas calcium, phosphorus, potassium, etc. are recycled mainly in soil and are available locally.
  • Nutrient recycling involves both biotic and abiotic components. The main abiotic components are air, water, soil.
  • Nutrient Cycle play an important role in keeping the ecosystem functioning. All organism, living and non-living depend on one another.
  • It links living organisms with non-living organisms through the flow of nutrients.
  • Nutrient Cycle describes how the nutrients move from the physical  environment into living organisms.
  • Now then, why is cycling matter important to life?
  • Because there are only limited amounts of nutrients  available on earth,  they must be recycled  in order to ensure the continued  existence  of living organisms.
  • Yep, that's right. The Nitrogen cycle is also important to us because it is converted into a form that we can obtained by eating other organisms. The Nitrogen Cycle is also an essential nutrient for sustaining  life on Earth.
  • Every different types of Nutrient cycle is important because it all plays different kind of effects on our surrounding.
  • All living organisms, biomolecules and cells are made up of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur and phosphorus. These elements are essential for life. It is important to recycle and continuously replenish nutrients into the environment for life to exist.
  • Nutrient cycle  transfer the nutrients from one place to another utilization. It keeps the ecosystem equilibrium and help in storing nutrients for future uptake.
