- The French Revolution was an uprising in France against the monarchy. It went on from 1789-1799.
- The Tennis Court Oath
- Five factors that led to the revolution were: Growing resentment among lower classes, new ideas about government, serious economic problems, weak/indecisive leadership, and food shortage.
- The Storming of the Bastille
- During the French Revolution the Estates-General was a meeting of the three estates within the French society which included the clergy, nobility, and the peasant classes.
- The Great Fear
- The Tennis Court Oath displayed a belief that political authority came from the nation's people rather than the monarchy.
- The storming of Bastille took place on July 14, 1789. This marked the beginning of the French Revolution. A series of events occurred in Paris that day which led to the overthrow of King Louis XVI.
- The Great Fear was a period of panic during the French Revolution when peasants rioted and caused violence. These riots swept through France and were sparked by the power of rumor along with economic concern.
