Flavius and Marullus tell the commoners to go home from their celebration of Caesar. They see Caesar as someone who isn't fit for ruler of Rome as Pompey was before. They believe Caesar shouldn't be celebrated.
Act 2: Scene 1
Caesar attends the Lupercal festival and a Soothsayer warns him of the Ides of March. Caesar calls the Soothsayer a dreamer and disregards the message.
Act 2: Scene 2
Mark Antony offered Casesar a crown three times and Caesar denied it each time. After he refused the crown, Caesar had an epileptic episode which was seen as a sign of weakness and gave his conspirators more reason to dislike him.
Act 2: Scene 3
The conspirators, Brutus, Cassius, Casca, Decius, Cinna, Metellus, and Trebonius all meet in the house of Brutus to discuss their plan to kill Caesar. Cassius was the one who was very set on killing Caesar to get him out of power.
Calpurnia has a dream that something bad is going to happen to Caesar. She begs him to stay home, and Caesar finally decides to stay home after her persisting. He decides that Mark Antony would go in his place to the Senate.
Artemidorus wrote a letter to Caesar to warn him about the conspirators and their plan. He has learned of their plan and wants to keep Caesar in power. Artemidorus tells Caesar to not trust any of the conspirators and waits in the street for Caesar to pass on his way to the Capitol.
