We will be going into different classrooms and asking students and teachers what their shoe size is so we can collect the information and create our dot plot.

But Maria, how on earth are we going to create a dot plot!?
Don’t worry Carlitos, I learned this in my math class and it’s very easy! I will guide you through it.
We asked 20 people around school and we have shoe sizes from 6-12, and now we will create our dot plot graph.

Okay, that is easy. But why is this useful?
The first step is to arrange the shoe sizes from least to greatest. Then set up a line from 6 to 9 going by .5 intervals. Next we have to arrange the shoe size to the corresponding size and draw a dot.
