- Lucia and her family move to a new house on Stanmore Street, Casiter City, Canada. She enrolls in Crestview High School.

- She is very nervous as she attends her first day of school.
- The Chemistry teacher asks Lucia to give Louis his jacket back since he forgot it in class, and she lived near him. She walks to his house to give it back to him.
- Louis offers to walk her home since she walked all the way to his house to give him his jacket. He tells her about the school on the way back.
- Louis introduces Lucia and Mason, a member of the Debate Club, the next day. Mason tells Lucia to meet him in the club room after school for a debate.
- The debate commences and Lucia loses. Mason tells her that she was in and the debate wasn't really going to not let her join. She is shocked but relieved.
