In 1928, Wilder Penfield moved to Montreal, Canada. Penfield's mission was to create a neurological institute. Later in 1943 he established the Montreal Neurological institute.

The death of Wilder Penfield took place on April 5, 1976 in Montreal after battling abdominal cancer. His discoveries still has a huge impact on neuroscience till this day. His methods and techniques are still continued by surgeons from all around the world. He was an inspiration to all surgeons and researchers.
