Gina's Story

Gina was born with Smith-Lemli-Optiz Syndrome on January 3rd, 2000. Despite her doctors' warnings and advice, Gina's mom was ready to take on the challenge. With unconditional love, she set out on a path to give Gina the best possible life filled with love and family.

Gina's mom was at the forefront of the efforts to make sure her child had the best opportunities in life. She advocated for Gina to be accepted into research, classes with gifted teachers, and special programs so Gina could feel like a kid.
