- She used her findings on the topic to publish her first book in 1962.But there where many people who aposed.
- she began as a graduate student at johns Hopkins university but had to leave early to support her ill father
- she became working part time at the bureau of fisheries and writing about marine biology for a radio program
- she died two years after silent spring was published
