  • The rise of Nazi Germany
  • INFLATION
  • Treaty of Versailles
  • How did it happen? Are all Germans EVIL? Are there economic and political reasons behind these GENOCIDES?
  • NATIONALISM
  • Most widely studied case of hyperinflation was after WORLD WAR I in Germany, Inflation rate of over 300% each month. Inflation destroys an economy, infrastructure, and the country as a whole. It destroys the buying power, saving power, and investing power of your country's currency. It causes political instability, destroys businesses, saps tax revenues, and raises unemployment rate.
  • MANIPULATING POOR PEOPLE
  • It was harsh and humiliating because Germany lost its overseas colonies, a tenth of its population, 13% of its territories, 75% of its iron and 26% of its coal to France, Poland, Denmark, and Lithuania. The Allied powers demilitarised Germany to weaken its powers. The War Guilt Clause held Germany responsible for the war damages that the Allied countries had to suffer. Germany was forced to pay a compensation of 6 billion.
  • Fear of Power, Cultlike Following
  • German nationalism that began to develop before World War II was a major motivation behind many individuals who joined the Nazi Party. When people felt deprived of national honor, the more they wanted to see their country in power. Germany's nationalism led Germans to believe what Hitler was doing was right, and he would do them no wrong, by raising Germany's standing in the world.
  • Studies show that when you're worried about money, your IQ goes down by 1 standard deviation. Instability and insecurity are hallmarks in life of poverty. Poverty will restrict visions of what is possible, and cause people to focus more on the present, rather than the future.
  • The Bystander effect kicks in, people watch as Jews and other minority groups, and everyone expects someone else to step in, the responsibility is dispersed. The Milgram Authority experiment shows how people will listen to an authority figure no matter how it goes against their morals.
  • Utopia can NOT exist under EXTREME AUTHORITY
  • 8 STAGES TO GENOCIDE
  • WORKS CITED
  • In the Stanford Prison Experiment, it was found that when people were given positions of power over others, it was very easy to abuse their powers for the bad. Which is what the Nazi Guards did, and what the German government was doing at the time also. The Nazi Guards, and the Nazi Officials.
