- Christopher Columbus was born in Italy in 1451. He made many voyages in the course of his life. He wanted to go west to find Asia.

- He asked the King to sponsor his voyage to Asia.
- On the 3rd of August 1492, Columbus set sail.
- Christopher Columbus discovered America, but he thought it was India and called the people Indians.
- He left 40 of his men to colonize the island and he and the rest of his crew traveled back.
