- Hi, I am John, I am a blacksmith. And they just recruited me for the union military.

- Go get warmed up and ready to charge the Confederate army today.

- John is in his workshop and the president just recruited him for the Union military. He is ready to fight for the injustices in his life.
- Medicine
- John and his friends are getting ready for battle by listening to the band and their Lieutenant.
- Food / Diet
- Man I am so tired of the same old food every day!
- This was the battle of the wilderness and the first battle for General Ulysses S. Grant and started with a bang.
- Prision Camp
- John got very ill from Pneumonia and they put him into surgery. Luckily he recovered because most did not including his friend.
- The men had to eat the same thing every day: beans, rice, salt pork, bread or flour, coffee, sugar, and dried fruits and veggies.
- This is the Andersonville prison camp and they have captured John and his friends. They killed John's friend in front of him. This is just one room the Andersonville prison camp has had 45,000 union soldiers that the Confederate army captured.
