- The British burn down the White House as retaliation to York. The President is forced to flee. 1814

- The Treaty of Ghent is signed, ending the war.
- With peace news not yet reaching North America, the Battle Of New Orleans is fought. 1815
- American President James Madison declares the war over.
- The United Sates is pleased to announce the end to the War of 1812.
- As a result, slavery was ended in both countries.
