Storyboard Text

  • This is a symbol of Morrie's inevitable death. Like waves on the ocean die on the shore he too will perish. However, he is reminded like the water he just becomes a bigger part of the ocean.

  • To Morrie his bed is a symbol of defeat and the recognition that his ALS is getting worst. He says "when you're in bed, you're dead."
  • Morrie's Bed
  • Like his dying plant Morrie recognizes that all things go through a cycle of life. As the plant begins to wither and die so does he. His failing heath and need for oxygen are represented by the color of the petals.
