När du skapar en storyboard för film är det absolut nödvändigt att bilderna speglar skriptet. Rörelse är centralt för dessa bilder: rörelserna för tecknen och objekten inom scenen samt kamerans rörelse som observerar den. I stället för att lägga ner beskrivningsrutan med tråkiga detaljer om varje åtgärd, låt bilden kommunicera rörelsen i en scen. Pilar är ett enkelt och igenkänt sätt att visa rörelse eller progression.
