- the first difference between Bruno and Shmuel is that Shmuel is a captive Jew that lives in the concentration camp while Bruno is a German boy that is the son of a Nazi commandant and that lives outside the camp.
- Differences
- The second difference is that Bruno is innocent against the HORRORS of the Holocaust while Shmuel knows how horrible it is even if he doesn't know why hes there

- the third difference is that Bruno was fed well while Shumel was getting thinner and thinner
- They are both nine years old, being born on April 15th, 1934
