- Freud has studied eight different defense mechanisms. This is the ego's protective methods of reducing anxiety by unconsciously distorting reality. Sublimation is transferring unacceptable impulse into socially valued motives. For me when I am angry running can help me let out my aggression.
- How Horney Sees Me
- I want my mom to pay attention to me
- Eysenck personality questionnaire reduced normal variations to two or three dimensions. This consisted of extraversion-introversion, emotional stability-instability. When I am at work most people would see me as an extrovert because I am very sociable to the customers.
- How Adler Sees Me
- Guys lets go home I am tired.
- Albert Bandura studied how behavior is influenced by interaction between people's traits and social situations. In a class setting, usually when one person says/does something it can fall in a domino effect. In this situation it would be asking for candy from the teacher.
- How Rogers Sees Me
- Mom I just got home
- Karen Horney studied childhood anxiety and how that can lead to a desire for love and security. This can often lead kids to show certain emotions to gather the attention of a parent or loved one.
- Alfred Adler studied how birth order impacts personality- childhood tension. Also, how behavior driven by efforts to overcome childhood inferiority complex. Me being the youngest in the family makes it harder for me to be heard/listened to.
- Carl Rodgers believed people are basically good unless impacted by environment that inhibits growth. After a long stressful day at school, my mom asks me to do the dishes which makes my day even worse.
