- The first winter the pilgrims spent in America was harsh and they were not ready.
- Soon the Pilgrims met friendly Indians and the Indians taught the Pilgrims how to farm, fish, hunt, and survive in the climate.
- Since the Indians taught the Pilgrims how to get food, the next winter they had a big feast to celebrate that they had enough food.
