Muhammad and the Birth of Islam

Muhammad was a pious Christian man who did not like the corruption of the rich people in his town, Mecca.
According to Islam, Muhammad was meditating in a cave when the archangel Gabriel appeared and told him about God's orders in what is known as the "Final Revelation".
He told his wife about his experience, and she later became the first convert to the then-new religion of Islam.
Muhammad told scholars about his newfound knowledge, and they wrote it down to create the Quran, which is the book of Islam.
Because of his dissenting religion, Muhammad was no longer welcome in Mecca. He had no choice but to leave.
He went to a neighboring town called Medina.
