Faaliyete Genel Bakış
Çoğu ilaç bu ana ilaç kategorilerinden birine veya daha fazlasına girer: uyarıcılar, depresanlar ve halüsinojenler. Esrar hem iç karartıcı hem de halüsinojenik olarak sınıflandırılabilecek bir ilaçtır.
Öğrencilerinizden bir uyarıcı, iç karartıcı ve halüsinojenik bir etki yaratmalarını isteyin ve ilacın vücuda ne yaptığını açıklamalarını isteyin. Öğrencilerden özel ilaç örnekleri oluşturmalarını isteyerek ve sürekli kullanımın uzun vadeli etkilerini listelemelerini istemek, ilaç kullanımının olumsuz sonuçlarını güçlendirmenin iyi bir yolu olabilir. Öğrencilerin çalışırken ürettiklerini izlemek, içerik okulunu uygun tutmanın anahtarıdır.
Uyarıcı ilaç kategorisine giren ilaçlar, vücuda alındığında merkezi sinir sistemini hızlandıracaktır. Etkiler arasında yüksek kalp atış hızı, uyanıklık veya enerji artışı, iştahsızlık ve olası uykusuzluk sayılabilir.

- Tütün (nikotin)
- Kafein
- Kokain
- amfetamin
- metamfetamin
- Adderall / Ritalin
Depresyonların merkezi sinir sistemini yavaşlattığı bilinmektedir. Vücuttaki bazı etkiler, düşük kalp atış hızı, uyuşukluk, düşük reaksiyon süresi ve bozulmuş koordinasyondur.

Halüsinojenik maddeler, birinin halüsinasyonlara neden olurken ışık, tat, işitme ve görme perspektifini değiştirir. Vücuttaki bu etkiler, halüsinojenleri müzik etkinliklerinde popüler kılar.
