Unprivileged classes of the French nation or the third estate had a traditional assembly meeting, where they realized that they were being outvoted by the other 2 estates. They were kicked out but they didn’t want to accept the unfair defeat, so they moved over to the tennis court next door and took an oath to never split until a written constitution would be established.
Women’s march on Versailles - October 5, 1789
The third estate was still being kicked and blocked from the main meetings so they decided to attack the Bastille, a common prison located in the middle of Paris. The idea was to kill the guards and take all the weapons to help defend themselves.

The bread prices were drastically rising so all the women demanded that the national assembly help. Then they all gathered and marched to the Versailles palace and necessitated that King XVI and Marie Antonette would return to Paris and resolve the bread pricing issue.

A new law called the Civil Constitution of the Clergy was created to put the church under government control and supervise them, this caused King Louis XVI to become scared so he took his family and tried to flee to Austria but he was caught. All his power was removed and he was now controlled by the legislature.

Mobs, raids, and riots led to the government falling and putting the National Convention into control. Not long after though, a radical group of people called the Jacobins took control over the government and created many rivals. They tried King Louis' death, and he was sentenced to the guillotine due to treason.
