Today we’re talking about George Washington’s Farewell Address. This was a letter he wrote to American people before stepping down.
We’ll be focusing on two ideas from Washington’s Farewell address. The national unity and the dangers of political parties.

Excuse me sir. Can you please explain why you wanted America to have national unity?
Of course. The reason Americans should establish national unity is because, unity reduces the risk of conflict and violence. It provides a stable environment for citizens to live in.

Yes I know the meaning and why he warned us about having them. Political parties are a group of people who fight for power, create division and good of the country. The reason he didn’t wasn’t us to have political parties is because, he didn’t want us to be divided, he wanted a peaceful future for America, he didn’t want us to fight for power, because being united means supporting each other.
