- On October 1929 in New York all the stock markets crashed and every one lost all the money they had and many factories closed down causing people to lose there jobs . This day was known as Black Tuesday.
- OH no I lost my job how am I suppose to earn money for my family
- It took everything from me why do we live here now
- Due to the depression and how bad it was getting people lost there jobs causing them to lose everything such as their houses making them live in a areas called Hooverville's . Hooverville's were shack houses for homeless people this was for people who were desperate for a place to live .
- The Dust Bowl was a sand storm that occurred during the 1930s . This storm killed peoples crops and lead to a drought , it also lead the weather to unusual temperatures where it was extremely hot . This also caused deaths around 7000 people died and 2 million became homeless
- RUNNN there is a big sand storm chasing us

- During the depression it caused a food shortage and many people were starving . This lead to people starting the food riot . The food riot was a riot that lead man and woman to grocery stores and break the windows and steal all the food in the store.
- In the banks they lost all there money they were not be able to give out loans anymore and people came to demand that they get there money back while there was none the bank was bankrupt.

- During this time people wanted a new leader and wanted to have a good , faithful leader that will help them out the depression . An from this came Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt came up with a new program called the New Deal which gave jobs , welfare, and new projects. People loved him and that is why he became the new president
