In this scene, Egeus is talking to the king because his daughter Hermia does not want to marry Demitrius, and he does not approve of the other man that Hermia wants to marry. He is angry and goes to the King for answers and to show her that there will be consequences of her actions.

In this scene Hermia is telling Lysander the news about what will happen, but instead of worrying, they decide to make a plan to escape through the woods and run a way together to live happily ever after.
Slayt: 3
In this scene Quince, Bottom, Flute, Snug, Snout, and Starveling are planning a play for Hermia and Demitrius' wedding that is coming up. They are deciding who will play which role and how the play will work. While they are deciding how everything will work, they come up with the idea to rehearse the play in the woods so that no one can see the play before the wedding and they can make sure that it is a surprise.
