  • Man... this guy is weird.
  • Oh I see.
  • I was educated at Oxford, and grew up in Mid West, also known as San Francisco. I also served in the war and have been all around the world.
  • Uhh, what are you doing here?
  • Hey Tom, this is Jay Gatsby, a friend of-
  • Daisy...
  • It is  getting late, I don´t know if I should. Tomorrow I will see you for tea with Daisy.
  • Are you interested in a quick trip to Coney Island with me?
  • Care to stop by for a swim in my pool? I hardly used it these days. 
  • How about a trim of your grass??
  • Gatsby explains his suspenseful backstory while on the way to lunch, such as collecting jewels in Europe, growing up in the Midwest, receiving medals in war, and being educated at Oxford.
  • They´re such beautiful shirts... I´ve never seen something like them before.
  • I´ve got a man in England who buys me clothes
  • 
  • Gatsby runs away from Tom Buchanan at lunch when introduced to him, because he was fearful of talking to him knowing he is married to Daisy. Nick begins to connect the dots after Jordan tells Nick about Gatsby and Daisy´s past.
  • How does traveling in my yacht around the world sound to you?
  • In chapter 5, Gatsby is ancy for Nick to follow through with his plan of inviting Daisy over for tea. He hesitantly invites Nick to go with him to Coney Island, or go swimming in his pool. 
  • This party sucks. And where even is Gatsby??This is his party.
  • Awkward...
  • Gatsby shows Daisy and Nick his shirt collection, and Daisy begins to cry because of the memories she has of him wearing the shirts. NIck observes that Daisy and Gatsby nearly forget that Nick is standing there.
  • Dan Cody and James Gatz travel the world together in Dan's yacht. They indulge in luxury and power. Dan Cody is a heavy drinker and as his personal assistant, James Gatz supervises him while he gets wildly drunk in which gives James Gatz a healthy respect for the dangers of alcohol. 
  • Tom & Daisy Buchanan have a bad time at Gatsby's party because of the tension  and awkwardness between them. Tom suspects something is up when Daisy takes multiple visits to Gatsby's house alone.
