He said the land was just a large desert and called it worthless. He also compared it to Africa and said it was like it.

Stephen Long was the guy who discovered the majority of Kansas. He originally called it "The Great American Desert." He thought better of this and thought of all of the possibilities.
Jackson's speech was him talking about why would you want land that's covered in forest and is flat. Than having large civilizations with populations over 12,000,000.
The Removal Act forced the Indians to move and relocate there area. Many tribes had struggles trying relocate and find good land.
This is a problem.
