Jem: "I already did. There's some men outside in the yard, they want you to come out."
Atticus: "Well, ask him to come in."
Jem: "It's Sheriff Heck Tate."
It began one evening after supper, Dill was over, Atticus and Aunt Alexandra were sitting on the couch and Jem and Scout were on the floor reading. There was a knock on the front door, Jem answered it and said it was Mr. Heck Tate.
Slayt: 2
A group of men arrive at the jail, intending to harm Tom. Atticus remains calm and refuses to move aside. The situation becomes tense as the mob pressures him.
Atticus: "You can turn around and go home again, Walter, Heck Tate's around somewhere."
Atticus: "He is, and he's asleep. Don't wake him up."
random man: "The hell he is, Heck's bunch's so deep in the woods they won't get out till mornin'."
Mr. Cunningham: "You know what we want we want, get aside from the door Mr. Finch."
random man: "He in there Mr. Finch?"
Slayt: 3
Once the mob leaves, Tom Robinson remains safe for the night, and Atticus takes the children home.
Tom Robinson: "Mr. Finch? They gone."
Atticus: "They've gone. Get some sleep, Tom. They won't bother you no more."
