- The process of converting low income to suit middle class owners. There are many examples of Gentrification in New York or places in Chicago. In these places they usually make it so that they raise the prices of these places which causes low income residents to move out.
- Green Belt
- It is a concentrated area of business that is outside of the historical urban centers of commence. They are usually at the intersections of major highways. They also have an area of about 5 million square feet of office space. One example of edge city is the Tysons Corner in Virginia.
- Rural
- Office Park
- A residential community that is outside of the city center. They also have homogeneous populations and ethnicity. The area of a suburb can either be in a town or city. An example can be gated communities outside of a large city.
- Exurbs
- A ring of open space where houses or buildings may not be built. Greenbelts are important to be able to protect the countryside from the sprawl of urban areas. Greenbelts include farms, parks, ranches, and wildlands.
- Areas that are sparsely settled that are away from the influence of large cities. Some examples would include farms villages etc. Wildlife is also frequently found since the place is away from large cities and sparsely populated by people.
- Small communities that lie beyond the suburbs of a city. They also tend to be more situated in more rural areas. An example can be how a wealthy area with people outside of the suburbs of Philadelphia.
