- Hello there! My name 3pac East.

- Today, I will tell you about the mechanisms these life forms go through in order to make sure only the fittest survive
- As you can see, we have 2 mice of different color.
- Now, which mice do you think stands out more?
- We also have a hungry predator eagle in the sky.
- You got it! The lighter colored mice that isn't close to the same color of its environment.
- This is an example of Natural Selection.
- This is because the brown mouse stands out less to predators making it so the population doesn't decrease but instead increases due to the fact that there are more opportunities to reproduce.
- Furthermore, the brown mouse that was relatively the same color as its environment will most likely survive longer and reproduce more than the white mouse
- What you just saw was natural selection, the process where organisms that are more adapted tend to survive longer.
- Come on! Let me show you another example.
- As you can see, we are in a desert. A dry place due to its small amounts of water.
- On the other hand, we have a pig who requires more amounts of water to survive.
- Over here we have a lizard that blends in with the environment and has mechanisms to stay hydrated in the desert.
- As the environment most likely won't change with the snap of a finger, eventually these pigs might die out due to lack of water.
- This brings us to another place called EVOLUTION.
- This is all true unless they develop a mechanism that helps them get water.
