Thanksgiving and prayer in the letter
I always thank my God and remember you in my prayers. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective
Paul's Plea for Onesimus
I could be bold and order you to do what I want to do, but I would rather do it with love
Before Onesimus used to be useless but now he is useful for both of us
Paul says that he won't retain Onesimus without Philemon's consent
I am sending him—who is my very heart—back to you. I wouldn't like to do any of this without you consent
He might have separated from you, but not to lose him if not to have him as a dear brother for both of us and for the Lord
