- Polyphemus the cyclops, snatches two of Odysseus's men and eats them. Afterwards, he traps the rest of them in the cave.

- While Polyphemus was gone, Odysseus found a stake and put it in the fire. When the cyclops got back, Odysseus tries to make him drunk.
- They happen across a cave and enter it, inside, they find milk and cheese crates as well as goats.
