Stella constantly think Jude is attempting to ruin her life ,"So whatever you have to say to me, just say it. I'm not wasting time going back and forth with you"(Bennett 315). Kennedy's interaction with Jude was premeditated due to the fact Stella told her Jude was lying . That causes her to think Jude is after her but the truth is just she is trying to reconnect lost family.
"I'm not here to fight"

Kennedy went on a mission to find Jude after seeing her at her job,"You didn't leave the hospital name, Kennedy said. I could've spent all damn day looking for you"( Bennett 328). Stella put her pride aside to find Jude. It made her even more upset now that she had proof her mother was lying
"But you didn't"

What kind of person are they?
Kennedy is stubborn because her mindset is causing her to become indecisive ,"She could rip it up, and at the end of the night , she'd never have to speak to Jude again" (Bennett 324) Kennedy has been brainwashed since she was young so now hearing the truth breaks her heart. For her own sake and sanity she doesn't want to believe it knowing it can be true.
