- “Mr. Harris! Thank goodness. Someone’s been knocking and broke a window upstairs.”

- Her relief was short-lived as the knocking returned, more insistent this time.
- “Susan! Someone’s at the door!”

- She hesitated, her hand trembling on the doorknob.

- “Susan, I saw someone lurking around. Are you alright?”
- The neighbor’s timely arrival brought a sense of safety, but the mystery wasn’t over.

- “Whoever it was is gone now. We’ll patrol the area.”
- “You did well, staying calm. Let us know if anything else happens.”
