As much as I don't want her to be around drugs, I can't force her not to go to the party. Instead, I know some helpful sources I can share with her to help her make a more careful decision and know how to handle a situation if anything bad happens. *Texts friend* And since I know many other kids will be at that party, I'll text the school's Speak-Up line and tell them about what I know about the party, where it is, when, and who I think is most at risk/students hosting party.

At the end of it all, I am sad that I lost a friend, realizing they weren't the type of person I wanted to keep close to me. But I am also proud of myself for standing up for my values and not letting someone force me into doing something I don't want to do, especially if it includes drugs. I believe that not going to the party was the healthiest solution and protected me from the dangers of drugs and being around them, from peer pressure, and from violating the student code of conduct, protecting my chance of trying out for badminton. Even though we aren't friends anymore, I will still continue to check up on my friend to make sure she is safe, and get her help if I think she needs it.
