- I will deliver his challenge by word of mouth, set upon Aguecheek a notable report of valor, and drive the gentleman (as I know his youth will aptly receive it) into a most hideous opinion of his rage, skill, fury, and impetuosity.
- Olivia calls for Malvolio and finds out that he has changed himself into strange clothes. He then starts reciting lines from her presumed letter and Olivia starts to think that Malvolio is mad. So she decides to put Malvolio in Sir Toby's care.
- He is knight, dubbed with unhatched rapier and on carpet consideration, but he is a devil in private brawl. Souls and bodies hath he divorced three, and his incensement at this moment is so implacable that satisfaction can be none but by pangs of death and sepulchre
- Sir Toby, Fabian and Maria come to collect Malvolio and treat him as if he were possessed. Malvolio speaks badly to them as he doesn't want to be bothered for the letter told him that all of this would happen so he still believes that Olivia loves him. To continue their joke, Sir Toby and the others decide to lock Malvolio in a dark room (here a well).
- Let him let the matter slip, and I’ll give him my horse
- Then enters Sir Andrew with his letter to challenge Cesario. Sir Toby reads it out loud but finds it not threatening enough and so decides that he will go and deliver the message orally to Cesario.
- Thou hast, Sebastian, done good feature shame.
- Sir Toby finds Cesario that has just come out of a discussion with Olivia (about how Olivia loves Cesario) and tells him "Sir Andrew's" message. He makes Sir Andrew look like a great sword fighter and then goes to Sir Andrew to tell him that Cesario is a great sword fighter.
- Sir Andrew tries to chicken out but Sir Toby makes him fight. They start fighting but they are both reluctant to tight.
- Antonio suddenly arrives on stage to defend Cesario how he thinks is Sebastian. Not happy with the intrusion of Antonio, Sir Toby also joins the fight. They then spot two officers coming and so pretend to not be fighting. The officers arrest Antonio how asks Cesario for his purse. Cesario doesn't understand and Antonio insults him and tells him how he thought Sebastian was a good person. Once he leaves with the officers, Cesario understands that Antonio must have mistaken her with her brother, which mans Sebastian must be alive!
