Audra had a task to deliver a book to a wedding but during the wedding, Cossack Soldiers had a investigation and found the book. The main soldier asked who gave the book and Audra was about to get up but Lucas stopped her. Then the soldier said if no one came up there would be consequences.
As the soldiers are on their way to burn the town, Audra and Lucas collect books for the homes so they don't get burned. Audra and Lucas have to hide the books in the nearby forest so they don't get caught. They can't get all the books so some are still in the homes and are burned in a big pile.
The Cossack Soldier lights up the remaining books along with the town. As he lights them up and leaves, Audra snatches a few books from the bottom that haven't gotten burned yet but gets a bad burn on her arm. The rest of the soldiers returned and them and the rest of the book smuggles were watching all the books burn in the pile.
