- Hmm, lets take a closer look at how they work.
- Yes, thats it exactly. Night vision goggles were first invented in the 1930s by the Germans in WWII. Now they are used in military today, as well as in hunting#160;

- Well, to start there are two different types of night vision goggles. These look to be the image enhancement kind. This means that the goggles use the image intensifier tube to collect the infrared from different natural sources like the moon or star, then convert and boost it into visible light. The obtained light is brighter than the original light that can be seen by visual output

- The process starts with a conventional lens#160;which captures ambient light and some near-infrared light. Next, the#160;gathered light is sent to the image intensifier tube, which#160;is shown in the image above, in order to turn the#160;photons of light energy into electrons. Then the#160;number of electrons is multiplied by a factor of thousands through the use of a microchannel plate in the tube.#160;At the end of the image intensifier tube, the electrons hit a screen coated with phosphors which turns them back into photons.#160;The energy of the electrons causes the phosphors to release photons. These phosphors create the green image on the screen that you see in the goggles.#160;
