This portayal is firstly strengthened by the color which really show the elegance and grace during the sadness of the fallen angel during his descent from heaven
Another formal element In the painting is the rule of thirds which seperates the sky lucifer and the ground. Which shows a contrast between the now disgraced lucifer and the angels
Overall, The elements within cabanel's painting really showcase lucifers mental state and the things going around him. Small details such as the tears and the look in his eyes really encapsulate the emotions within the piece
