- I was also a mathematician. I was quite good at it.
- The most notable thing that Katherine Johnson did was calculate the landing spot for John Glenn. John Glenn would not get in the Mercury space capsule unless she checked the computers calculation of his landing spot.
- My favorite fact about Katherine Johnson was that she worked at NASA even though she was an African American women and the majority of the workers there were male.
- Katherine Johnson's calculations helped influence the math that computers do today. Her work in mathematics has influenced every space program.
